Time-resolved CEST Spectroscopy
Molecular Imaging
Projects
Fast grandient-encoded CEST spectroscopy can be used to acquire a time-resolved series of CEST spectra. To illustrate the capabilities of this technique we studied the temperature-induced changes in the spectrum of a para-CEST agent.

Cooling or heating of a solution containing such an agent with the variable temperature unit (VTU) of an NMR spectrometer changes both the chemical shift position and the exchange rate of the resonance from coordinated water.

Plotting the chemical shift separation of the CEST and the bulk water peak versus time illustrates that it takes ca. 40 min for the temperature inside the sample to stabilize.
