Partners within CRC "Matrix in Vision"
The instability of certain gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) in the presence ofcompeting ions like Zn2+ is well know and caused the withdrawal of formerly approved agents. The biochemical fate of released Gd3+ ions, however, is still not fully understood. We explore methods to ify Gd deposition in extracellular matrix components. This project is pursued within the BIOQIC graduate school and has as loose affiliation with the DFG-funded CRC "Matrix in Vision".
